The GPA is the official representative body for inter-county Gaelic footballers and hurlers. Their aim is to promote and protect all aspects of player welfare and to provide an independent voice for players. Their goal, to ensure that players tend to their careers off the field as well as on it by providing first class welfare programmes in the areas of education, career development, health and well-being and benevolent fund support.
The GPA is a not-for-profit, membership organisation representing over 2000 current inter-county hurlers and footballers. Â The GPA is governed by three elected officers, a national executive committee and three sub-committees – management, finance and remuneration. The GPA’s Player Development Programme is funded by the GAA.
